Follow one packet

A network moves small units of data through connected devices. Different devices solve different parts of the journey.

In 30 seconds

  1. A switch usually connects devices within a local network.
  2. A router forwards packets between networks.
  3. Wi-Fi is one way to join a network; it is not the Internet itself.
Make it concrete

Your phone may reach a local printer while the Internet link is down. Draw which parts of those two paths are shared.

  1. 01Device
  2. 02Switch
  3. 03Router
