Two screens may share one wrong position
Agreement between displays is not independent confirmation when both depend on the same input.
In 30 seconds
- Identify shared position, heading and time sources in integrated navigation systems.
- Unexpected values may arise from equipment faults, configuration, interference or malicious activity; symptoms alone do not identify the cause.
- Use approved cross-checks and bridge procedures, and report anomalies to the responsible officer.
Make it concrete
ECDIS and another display show the same jump because they use one GNSS receiver. Mark the shared receiver in your dependency diagram.
- 01Shared sensor
- 02Distribution
- 03Multiple displays
